How about a function that makes it possible to let some one have a site from start? Could be cities, towers, income buildings or stacks. Just to put out and then click that "detailed info"-button on them and choose if they will be neutral or a belong to a certain player right from the start.

Encountered a small problem now too. Had a 4 player map (submitted) with capitols set out. Took them away (for new version) and changed their positions - and colors (did not remember which were used in the first place). Couldn't finalize, cause the map believed I had only those colors of the last version. It did not notice that the colors were changed. Had to change it manually (after first wondering wtf had happened). Was pretty cryptic, that error message.

You can edit the cities to dedicate them to one player. Of course only in scenario maps can a player start with multiple cities. You also can place units on the map in scenario games dedicated to a particular player.

Yes, but why not in a ordinary game?

Ok, cities might be over the top, but units, mines, watchtower etc. would be no problem. For example, if there is a very important city in the middle. 110 income, powerful production and a grandfather sword inside, it would be an easy way to show all players that "this is a good place to go", and at the same time it would allow them to see what happens there, if someone takes it over etc.

The normal game is supposed to be "vanilla", which makes competition fair and effective. This is a standard practice. You don't see some Starcraft maps where players start with several buildings. Not to say that Warbarons couldn't violate the norm, but really the only difference between scenario and non-scenario is that scenario maps can't be used for ladder play. You can play all the non-vanilla games you want as long as you don't need ladder points.

Yes, in scenariomaps you can customize quite alot I think,
You can setup a player to start with:
# Additional cities (including setting up the city production)
# Extra units (even heroes)
# Towers, income sites and LookOut Towers
# Diffrent amount of starting gold
# And also setup Triggers that only affect certain players etc...

This is not possible in standard game, so that a player should know what to expect when playing the standard game :-)
